About Kids Montessori Academy

KMA was founded in October 2011. Mila Jajoo, owner and the Director of the school, is a certified Montessori teacher and has 28 years of experience working in early childhood education. She and her dedicated team of teachers and administrators provide a caring, loving environment where your child will be encouraged to flourish socially, emotionally, and academically.
KMA is a private, nonsectarian school with an international clientele. We are located on Grand Mission Blvd in Richmond, adjacent to Juan Seguin Elementary. Our team aims to be much more than a drop-off daycare. We are committed to building a strong home/school partnership for the benefit of your family and your child. Students experience a secure environment where they will be given opportunities to explore, discover, and understand, with the ultimate goal of preparing them for success in their future learning journey.
KMA provides services to children aged 18 months to 12 years, with the following groups based on age:
  • Infant Classes - 6 weeks to 18 months
  • Toddler Class - 18 months to 2 1/2 years
  • Transition Class - 2 1/2 years to 3/12 years
  • Pre-Primary Class - 3 1/2 years to 4 1/2 years
  • 4 1/2 years to 6 years
  • Before and After School Club - 5 years to 12 years

Mission Statement

Kids Montessori Academy exists to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for preschool and school-age children. We aim to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who will help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. Our goal is to create an environment where young children develop a strong sense of self and belonging and to support a child's desire to be a lifelong learner.

Classroom Monitoring

Watch Me Grow is a complimentary service that KMA provides to our families. It is a live online video feed that brings you right into your child's classroom. Authorized parents and family members can check-in and watch children enjoy their activities during their day. It's a great opportunity for you to observe your child at school and remain an active part of a continuous learning experience at home. It also is a wonderful tool for family members that don't get to be around your child as much as they would like. Loved ones can share in precious memories and pivotal moments, even when life gets busy and schedules don't line up. All camera access must be authorized by the school.

Extracurricular Activities

KMA has independent service providers that visit our school each week and offer classes in basketball, gymnastics, and dance. These trusted partners allow expanded opportunities in a comfortable environment. If you wish to enroll your child in these activities, the cost is paid directly to the service provider.
